That is as many parcels as the city of Dallas — 24,878 against 24,464 — on two-thirds more land. The difference is size, not count.
Out here 1,302 tracts of five acres or more hold 62% of the acreage. The city has 631 such tracts, holding 55% of its own. A fifth of the parcels outside the city are over an acre, against one in nine inside it.

The county splits in two. In the inner ring — Richardson, Carrollton, Addison, Duncanville — vacant land is leftover infill, with under 40% of the acreage in large tracts. In the southern county it is big tracts: Wilmer 85%, Hutchins 77%, Seagoville 76%, Lancaster 74%, Sunnyvale 73%.
This is not farmland. Land under an agricultural valuation is a separate appraisal class and is not in this map at all. Of the 1,305 tracts of five acres or more out here, 83% are carried on the roll as commercial vacant — platted land held empty, not fields.
9.1% is publicly owned by parcel, 20% by acreage. The unincorporated remainder, labelled "no town" on the roll, is 823 parcels on 2,444 acres.
