Texas School Campuses — Rating Change, 2025 to 2026

How every Texas campus moved between the 2025 and 2026 TEA accountability ratings: 8,351 compared, joined on TEA's own identifiers. Blue is improvement, orange and red decline, grey no meaningful change. Circles are sized by the size of the move, not the score. The statewide median change was +0.0 points — read individual movements against that, not against zero. Size matters more than anything else here: the smallest fifth of districts are roughly twenty times likelier to move ten points or more than the largest fifth (22% against 1%), because in a district of sixty students a handful of test-takers moves the entire score. The districts with the most dramatic swings are, almost without exception, the smallest ones — every point carries its enrolment and a small_enough_to_swing flag so a big number can be read with its denominator. TEA revises cut scores and indicator weights between cycles, so part of any year-over-year movement is the scoring system rather than the school. Entities present in only one year are excluded rather than counted as a change: a new campus is not an improvement and a closed one is not a decline.
