Texas Lottery — What Every Store in Texas Sells
31,619 Texas lottery retailers and their net sales, September 2020 to August 2026: $48.84 billion. Circles are sized by sales; colour is the share sold as scratch tickets, which is 80% of the state's lottery business — the purple stores sell to a different kind of player. This is the denominator missing from every 'luckiest store' story: the retailer that sells the most tickets produces the most winners, and that is arithmetic rather than luck. Each point also carries its prize count and a luck index corrected for the games it actually sells. Aggregated from Texas Lottery Sales by Fiscal Month/Year, Game and Retailer — 51.6 million monthly rows published by the Texas Comptroller. Sales begin in September 2020, which is the whole of that table. Addresses geocoded with Azure Maps.
