North Texas City Population, 2000–2019

Annual population for 233 North Texas cities, every year from 2000 to 2019. Across these cities the region grew 42.3%, from 4.91 million to 6.99 million — but the growth was extraordinarily uneven: the ten fastest-growing cities absorbed 53.9% of it, while 40 cities lost population outright. Dallas grew just 9.9% and its share of the region fell from 24.2% to 18.7%, while Fort Worth grew 65.2% and closed the gap between them from 640,684 to 402,047.
