Austin Project Connect — The 2020 Plan Voters Approved

The Project Connect system plan as Capital Metro filed it with the State of Texas in December 2020, a month after Austin voters approved it. 54.4 miles of light rail across three lines — Orange, Blue and Gold — with 56 station platforms, a downtown tunnel, an airport connection and 20 park-and-rides, inside a 612-mile network also carrying MetroRapid, MetroExpress and the Red and Green commuter lines. Funded by an 8.75-cent property tax increase. By 2023 the Gold Line, the tunnel and the airport link had all been cut and the rail programme reduced to 9.8 miles; no track has been laid as of 2026. This layer is the promise as filed, which makes it the baseline everything since is measured against. Use 'initial_investment' to separate the first phase from the future extensions.
